How do we work?

Setting correct expectations is very important in the provision of professional services.  We aim to be very clear in all our communications with our clients and our prospective clients.  This is how we work:

The initial meeting

Call us first to discuss your requirements and find out more about our services.  Where we believe we can provide the services you require and deliver the results you want, we will offer you an initial meeting. We don’t charge for this meeting.

Having discussed your requirements and agreed on the services we will provide, we will formalise arrangements in a letter of engagement.  This sets out the work we will perform, the delivery of the results and the basis of our fees. [top]

Fees

Fees will be discussed and agreed with you before the start of an engagement so that there will be no surprises.  If a fixed fee is agreed, that is what will be charged.  If a variable fee applies, we will keep you fully informed of our costs at intervals we agree with you, and you will have the opportunity to set a limit on the total cost of the work before we start the engagement.

To minimise costs, we don’t give credit and we ask clients to pay a proportion of our fees on account as the work progresses, with the final balance due on completion.  Payments are usually arranged by monthly standing order or variable direct debit as appropriate.  Further details are explained in our letter of engagement. What should you expect from us when you engage our services?

We provide a quality service which is designed to deliver specific, identifiable benefits to your business.  You should be able to measure the results and quantify the benefits, and thus calculate the financial return obtained against the cost of the service.

We do not aim to be the cheapest and will respectfully decline to undertake work which can be best performed in that category.

The Chartered Accountancy brand is synonymous with excellence in its standards and these include quality, integrity, and professional ethics.  We will not undertake an engagement if we are unable to provide the services required. [top]

Provision of Services Regulations 2009

In accordance with the disclosure requirements of the Provision of Services Regulations 2009, our professional indemnity insurer is Brit Insurance Limited, of 55 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 3AS. The territorial coverage is worldwide excluding professional business carried out from an office in the United States of America or Canada and excludes any action for a claim brought in any court in the United States of America or Canada. Our services are designed to add value to your business.
